In 1986 Jeffrey made his British debut at the Glyndebourne Festival as Sid in Albert Herring where he has subsequently returned for Demetrius in A Midsummer Night’s Dream and the Count - in both Capriccio and Le nozze di Figaro.
At the Royal Opera House, Covent Garden he’s appeared as Harlekin (Ariadne auf Naxos), Sid (Albert Herring), Figaro (II Barbiere di Siviglia), Dandini,(Cenerentola) the Count de Nevers in Meyerbeer’s Les Huguenots and the Count (Le nozze di Figaro). He has also performed as Danilo in Welsh National Opera’s new production of Merry Widow with Lesley Garrett – telecast on BBC2.
He has returned to Glyndebourne undertaking the role of Falstaff for the first time, his debut in the title role of Simone in a Gala concert performance for Chelsea Opera Group of Simone Boccanegra (1857 version) at Queen Elizabeth Hall, South Bank.
He has also performed with the Lyric London Opera as Frank in Die Fledermaus at Cadogan Hall. And joined Opera Holland Park for their revival of Francesca da Rimini as Gianciotto, as well as Posa in Don Carlo (for Opera North), Pizzaro in Fidelio and Scarpia in Tosca both for the New London Opera.
